Dona Jean Clary, pianist, graduated with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Regina. Scholarship awards enabled her to continue her musical studies in London, England, where she received her Licentiate from the Royal Academy of Music. Subsequently, Ms. Clary taught for the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
Recognized for her sensitive interpretations, she is sought after as an accompanist for vocal and instrumental soloists, has worked with many ensembles, including the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. She teaches privately, and is a teacher and accompanist for the Cedar Glen Summer Music Centre of CAMMAC, an organization whose aim is to encourage amateur musicians at all levels.
At the Toronto School for Strings, “D.J.” teaches piano, in addition to coaching, ear training, and accompanying. In this capacity, she encourages musicianship through interaction with the students.
