Joy Tseng holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. She received her Master of Music from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois where she majored in music education and piano pedagogy. She also obtained her ARCT diploma in piano teaching from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her teachers include Susan Hamblin Dennis, William Aide, and Marina Geringas. In her youth, Joy performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra playing the guzheng (Chinese plucked zither).
Joy is a full-time Ontario Certified teacher and has been a teacher with the Toronto District School Board for over 20 years. Along with her background as a classroom teacher, teacher of the arts (music, dance, drama) and her private studio teaching piano, theory, and Kindermusik, Joy has extensive experience working with students with diverse needs and learning styles. She loves to share her joy of music and love of learning with students of all ages.
She is the proud mom of two young musicians from TSSP playing the violin, cello, and piano.
