Joyce Gundy holds an ARCT Diploma in Violin Performance from The Royal Conservatory of Music and also studied chamber music with Henri Temianka.
Ms. Gundy is former conductor of both the RCM Junior Orchestra and the Toronto Settlement Community Music School String Orchestra, and has also taught string classes for the Toronto and North York Boards of Education. She is active as an adjudicator for music festivals in Ontario, the Maritime Provinces, and Newfoundland and for the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto.
As a performer, Ms. Gundy has given solo violin recitals and has appeared with the Toronto Symphony. She has also been heard in chamber music recitals and broadcasts on CBC radio and television and has performed in a number of cities in Ontario.
Joyce has been honoured by the Royal Conservatory with the prestigious and well-earned Legacy Examiner Award for her many years of dedicated music examining and teaching.
She continues to teach with energy, and enthusiasm at a high level and offers an unbelievable wealth of knowledge about violin teaching.
